Friday June 12th World Day against Child Labour Webinar & Materials #childlabour

Hello,

As you hopefully know, tomorrow, June 12th is World Day Agaunst Child Labour. This year, World Day Against Child Labour focuses on the impact of crisis on child labour. The theme ‘COVID-19: Protect children from child labour, now more than ever’ is an opportunity to jointly raise awareness and to mobilize political will and resources to address child labour in the context of COVID-19.

In order to mark the day the ACPHA Child Labour Task Force has compiled some key resources and events coming up for sharing and action:

- Join the Alliance COVID-19 and Child Labour webinar on Friday 12 June at 2.30 CET to hear field experiences and discuss challenges and opportunities to address child labour in the context of COVID-19. Participants will hear an update based on the technical note on COVID-19 and Child Labour (EN, SP, FR), evidence-based resources and field experiences to prevent and respond to child labour. Subsequently, field participants will be able to reflect and discuss challenges and opportunities to address child labour in the context of COVID-19.

- Join the high-level debate organised by ILO and UNICEF on Friday 12 June at 4.30 CET with focus on the importance of protecting children from child labour in COVID-19 response and recovery plans, while looking forward to the International Year on the Elimination of Child Labour (2021) and the SDG Target to end child labour in all its forms by 2025.
